In a tragic instance of mistaken identity, Tylee Felder, a 24-year-old Black man from Brooklyn, New York, was fatally shot on September 8, 2020. The brazen daytime shooting occurred just after 4:30 p.m. outside the Lafayette Gardens housing complex on Dekalb Avenue. Felder was struck in the head and succumbed to his injuries the following day at a local hospital.
