On June 25, 2024, at approximately 5:15 a.m., 31-year-old Javier Osorio-Mejia, a well-known sneaker reseller from Bayonne, New Jersey, was fatally shot on Greene Street near Broome Street in Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood. The incident occurred in front of the luxury fashion store Stone Island. Osorio-Mejia sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his right leg and was found unconscious at the scene. He was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
