On July 4, 2024, at approximately 5:07 a.m., 37-year-old Queens resident and DJ, Travanti Rankine, was fatally shot during a house party on Montauk Street near 119th Road in St. Albans. The incident occurred when an altercation broke out among attendees, escalating to gunfire that struck Rankine in the abdomen. Emergency responders transported him to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
