On March 18, 2023, 20-year-old Daryus Clarke was fatally shot during a robbery at The Plug, a smoke shop located on Jamaica Avenue near 110th Street in Richmond Hill, Queens. Around 12:15 p.m., three individuals entered the store, with one brandishing a firearm while the others began seizing THC and tobacco products.
