In the early hours of April 29, 2024, 27-year-old Queens Village resident Temel Phillips was fatally shot outside the Caribbean Fest Lounge, located at 116-14 Rockaway Boulevard in South Ozone Park, Queens. Responding to reports of gunfire around 1:04 a.m., officers from the 106th Precinct arrived to find Phillips suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his head, chest, leg, and abdomen.
