On July 21, 2024, at approximately 10:40 p.m., 30-year-old Arturo Jose Rodriguez-Marcano was fatally shot in Steuben Playground, a public park in Brooklyn, New York. Rodriguez-Marcano, a Venezuelan migrant, had been residing in a tent within the park, along with other migrants, after his time at a nearby shelter had expired. He was known among his peers as "Ozuna" for his love of singing and was remembered as a charismatic and happy individual.
