In the early morning hours of July 3, 2018, Argenis Cabrera, a 33-year-old man, was standing with a group of people in front of an apartment building on Union Street in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. At approximately 2:50 a.m., a white van approached the gathering, and individuals inside the vehicle opened fire on the group. Cabrera was struck in the torso by the gunfire.
