A 45-year-old male, Richard Henderson, died on a Brooklyn subway train after being shot on Sunday, January 14, 2024, while attempting to act as a peacemaker during a heated dispute. The incident occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. on a Manhattan-bound 3 train. Henderson, a father of three and a grandfather of two, was on his way home after watching a football game with friends.
