On the evening of April 27, 2024, 24-year-old Brooklyn resident Daequan Buckley was fatally shot in East Flatbush. The incident occurred around 8:20 p.m. near the intersection of Church Avenue and East 54th Street, close to the Magic Fingers Studio Hair Salon. Buckley was found with multiple gunshot wounds to his abdomen and was transported to Brookdale University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
