On March 27, 2023, at approximately 11:10 a.m., a shooting occurred at the Ingersoll Houses on Monument Walk in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Shawn Myers, a 33-year-old resident of Brooklyn, was shot in the head during the incident. Emergency medical services transported him to Brooklyn Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
