In the morning hours of March 27, 2023, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace at the Ingersoll Houses in the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn. When the chaos subsided, 33-year-old Shawn Myers, a male resident of Brooklyn, was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. The incident occurred around 11:10 a.m. near a fence on Monument Walk within the housing complex.
