On August 21, 2024, at approximately 3:40 p.m., Darryl McMillan, a 54-year-old resident of Queens, New York, was fatally shot in the chest near the PO Reinaldo Salgado Playground on Monroe Street in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn. Emergency responders transported McMillan to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
