In the warm, late-night hours of August 8, 2021, a gathering in an East New York, Brooklyn backyard turned into a scene of chaos and tragedy. Donald Nash, a 32-year-old Black man, was among those present when gunfire suddenly erupted, shattering the night's festivities. The hail of bullets left multiple people wounded and would ultimately claim three lives, including that of Nash.
