Genesis Wilson, an 18-year-old from Brooklyn, NY, was tragically shot and killed on May 25, 2018, in what authorities believe was a case of mistaken identity. The incident occurred around 11:00 p.m. when three masked men broke into a house in Canarsie, Brooklyn, where Wilson was staying. The assailants shot Wilson through a window while he was lying on a friend's bed, looking at his phone after playing video games. He succumbed to his injuries the following day at Brookdale Hospital.
