On a summer evening in Brooklyn, a retired NYPD officer's attempt to quell a dispute turned fatal, ending a life dedicated to service and community. Thomas Marrinan, a 57-year-old male, was fatally shot on June 7, 2021, while coming to the aid of a friend in the Kensington neighborhood. The incident unfolded outside a pizzeria on Church Avenue and East 3rd Street, just around the corner from where Marrinan lived.
