Steven Vargas, a 47-year-old resident of Staten Island, was tragically killed on the evening of September 20, 2017, near the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The incident occurred around 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Atlantic Avenue. According to police reports, Vargas was found unconscious and unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and a stab wound. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at Brooklyn Hospital.
