In the spring of 2023, the life of 31-year-old Sam Baldwin IV, a Black/African American male, was cut short in a burst of violence on the outskirts of Columbia, Missouri. On the evening of April 22nd, shots rang out in the 4300 block of West Bellview Drive, leaving Baldwin critically wounded. A 5-year-old child was also caught in the crossfire and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
