In the early spring of 2021, a verbal dispute outside a Waffle House in Columbia, Missouri, tragically escalated, ending the life of 51-year-old Reginald Ball. The incident, which unfolded on March 14, led to the arrest of a suspect in the fatal shooting.
According to police statements, the altercation occurred between Ball and another man, later identified as 52-year-old Leo Barry Robinson Jr. Witnesses at the scene reported that the two men were engaged in a heated argument.
During the confrontation, Ball was reportedly heard telling Robinson to remove his hand from his pocket.
The situation took a deadly turn when Robinson allegedly got into his vehicle. From there, he is accused of firing a gun, striking Ball three times at close range. Emergency services were called to the scene, but Ball was pronounced dead from his injuries.
Following an investigation by the Columbia Police Department, Leo Barry Robinson Jr. was arrested and charged in connection with Reginald Ball's death. The charges filed against him included second-degree murder, armed criminal action, and unlawful possession of a firearm. Robinson pleaded not guilty to the charges, and the case was set for trial.
