On May 21, 2023, at approximately 3:40 p.m., Columbia Police responded to a reported robbery in progress at a residence in the 5300 block of E. Tayside Circle. Upon arrival, officers found 72-year-old Janet L. Jago with a gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention and transportation to a local hospital, Ms. Jago was pronounced deceased.
