In what authorities have described as an apparent murder-suicide, 79-year-old Mary Trentman, a female, was found deceased in her Columbia, Missouri home on Monday, March 11, 2019. The discovery was made after police received a 911 call from her 83-year-old husband, Wayne Trentman, who informed the dispatcher that his wife was dead.
Upon their arrival at the couple's residence, law enforcement officers found Mary Trentman with a fatal gunshot wound.
Her husband, Wayne Trentman, was also found deceased at the scene from what was determined to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths concluded that it was a case of murder-suicide, with Wayne Trentman as the sole suspect in his wife's death. As the suspect also died at the scene, there were no arrests made or subsequent trial.
