In the early morning hours of June 25, 2023, just after celebrating his 22nd birthday, Nikko Manning, a Black male, was shot and killed in Kansas City, Missouri. The tragic incident unfolded around 4:30 a.m. near the intersection of 57th Street and Prospect Avenue, where a large gathering was taking place.
