On July 10, 2023, 49-year-old Marcos Antonio Muñoz Benitez was fatally shot in the parking lot of an auto body shop on U.S. 40 Highway in Kansas City, Missouri. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m., when police responded to reports of a shooting and found Muñoz Benitez unresponsive; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
