In the early morning hours of August 6, 2016, a violent incident unfolded in Kansas City, Missouri, claiming the life of a young man. Monrico C. Fletcher, a 23-year-old male, became the victim of a shooting that occurred in a residential area. The sequence of events began when police officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of South Benton Street around 2:30 a.m. following reports of gunfire in the neighborhood.
