On the night of September 15, 2023, police in Independence, Missouri, launched a homicide investigation following the discovery of a deceased woman in a residential neighborhood. Officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of South Harvard Avenue around 10:30 p.m. after receiving a call reporting a person lying on the ground who appeared unresponsive.
