In the quiet city of Independence, Missouri, the life of 52-year-old Daina M. Smith was tragically cut short on the evening of July 26, 2020. Responding to a call, police arrived at a residence on South Greenwich Lane to find Daina deceased inside her home from a gunshot wound to the head. As officers were arriving, a man, later identified as Daina's husband, Ryan D. Smith, was seen leaving the home in a Jeep.
