On January 7, 2024, at approximately 12:15 a.m., 46-year-old John Michael Bartrom, founder and owner of Jericho Home Improvements, was fatally shot near East 63rd Street and Prospect Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. Officers responding to a medical emergency call found Bartrom unresponsive in a business parking lot; he was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
