In the early hours of a Sunday morning, the life of John Bartrom, a 46-year-old male and well-known Kansas City businessman, was cut short in a fatal shooting. The incident occurred just after midnight on January 7, 2024, in the parking lot of a gas station near East 63rd Street and Prospect Avenue. Initially, police responded to what was reported as a medical call, finding Bartrom unresponsive on the ground.
