On January 8, 2023, at approximately 1 a.m., Kansas City, Missouri, police responded to reports of a shooting in the 2000 block of East 73rd Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals unresponsive in the front yard of a residence: 46-year-old Charles Martin, who was pronounced dead at the scene, and 35-year-old Tanisha Williams, who was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and later succumbed to her wounds.
