Malik Jones, a 25-year-old resident of Macon, Missouri, was reported missing on January 30, 2024, after he was last seen in Columbia. His family became concerned when he failed to make contact, which was out of character for him. On February 7, after days of searching, his sister, Neeka Smith, discovered his body in a wooded area near Creasy Springs Road North in Columbia. The Boone County Sheriff's Office subsequently launched a homicide investigation into his death.
