On May 13, 2024, 17-year-old Jesus Mendoza was fatally shot in Kansas City, Missouri. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. near Truman Road and Hardesty Avenue, following a report of a car prowler in the area. Upon arrival, officers found Mendoza unresponsive in a nearby business parking lot; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Another adult male victim was discovered with gunshot wounds and transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
