On June 1, 2024, at approximately 4 a.m., Kansas City police responded to reports of an individual down in the street near 50th Street and Prospect Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered 45-year-old Darryle A. Lee lying unresponsive with apparent gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
