In the quiet of a Saturday night in Kansas City, the sound of five gunshots fired in quick succession shattered the peace of the Northeast area. On June 8, 2019, those shots marked the final moments for 28-year-old Sade Abdi, a male victim of the city's ongoing violence. Responding to numerous calls around 9:20 p.m., police officers arrived at the Northeast View Apartments, located at the corner of Garfield and Lexington avenues, to a grim scene.
