Damon Copes, a 28-year-old resident of Kansas City, Missouri, tragically lost his life on May 13, 2019, in a shooting incident. The shooting occurred around 7 p.m. at the intersection of 24th and Quincy streets. Damon was found on the sidewalk and was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. This incident marked the 48th homicide in Kansas City for the year 2019, reflecting a concerning trend in the city's violent crime rate.
