In the evening hours of January 26, 2023, a burst of gunfire shattered the night on Broad Street in Newark, New Jersey, leaving a scene of chaos and tragedy. When the violence subsided, 30-year-old Al-Supreme Davis was found on the sidewalk, having sustained fatal gunshot wounds. Emergency responders arrived at the 1000 block of Broad Street at approximately 7:28 p.m.
and pronounced Davis dead at the scene shortly after.
The shooting, which involved the firing of over a dozen rounds, also resulted in injuries to three other individuals who managed to survive the harrowing event. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is leading the investigation into the incident. As of the initial reports, no arrests had been made in connection with the shooting, and the investigation remains active and ongoing. Al-Supreme Mathematics Davis, born on October 31, 1992, was a Newark native who had attended Miller Street Elementary and East Side High schools. Described as having a heart of gold, he was known for his willingness to help others without expecting anything in return. A devoted father of three, he was survived by his mother, numerous sisters, and other family members who remember him as a man who could conquer anything he set his mind to.
