In the early morning hours of September 2, 2023, the life of 40-year-old Ronald Taylor Jr., a male resident of Trenton, New Jersey, came to a violent end. Police responded to reports of shots fired in the 200 block of Brunswick Avenue shortly after midnight. Upon their arrival, they discovered Taylor unresponsive in a vacant lot, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
Known on the streets as 'Double R,' Taylor had a significant and troubled history with the law. In 2007, he faced charges of murder and weapons offenses in connection with the shooting death of another man. At that time, he was reportedly a member of the Sex Money Murder Bloods gang and was on probation for eluding police.
His criminal record also included an arrest for carrying a machine gun as a juvenile.
The investigation into Ronald Taylor Jr.'s death was immediately launched by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department. Despite their efforts, no arrests have been made in the case, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects. The investigation remains active and ongoing as detectives continue to seek information from the public regarding the fatal shooting.
