On New Year's Day 2023, the life of Tony Williams, a 52-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short in a shooting in Norfolk, Virginia. The incident unfolded in the Berkley neighborhood, a community Williams was deeply connected to, in the 500 block of Walker Avenue.

Responding to a call about a gunshot victim, Norfolk police officers found Williams with life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital, but tragically, he succumbed to his wounds. The police promptly launched ...
