In the early morning hours of January 15, 2023, a shooting in the Park Place section of Norfolk, Virginia, claimed the life of 37-year-old Omon L. Hamlin. The incident unfolded near the intersection of West 27th Street and Colonial Avenue. Hamlin, along with another man, arrived at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital around 4:40 a.m., both suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.
