In the late afternoon of August 18, 2022, a residence in the 7400 block of Fenner Street in Norfolk, Virginia, became the scene of a tragic burst of violence. When police responded to reports of a shooting at around 4:30 p.m., they discovered five people inside who had been struck by gunfire. Among them was 43-year-old Quinton O. Sessoms, a male who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other men, 35-year-old Jarred T. Davis and 44-year-old Calvin L.
Wood, also lost their lives in the incident. In addition to the three fatalities, a 40-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man were found wounded. They were subsequently transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The initial investigation by Norfolk detectives revealed that all individuals involved in the shooting were known to one another. Despite this preliminary finding, authorities have not publicly released further details about the circumstances or a possible motive that led to the deadly encounter. Detectives have appealed to the public for any information that might lead to a break in the case. To date, there have been no announcements regarding any arrests or identified suspects in connection with the deaths of Quinton O. Sessoms and the other victims.
