In the early hours of a Wednesday morning, the quiet of Hopewell, Virginia was shattered by the sound of gunfire. On January 18, 2023, 35-year-old Jessica Lynn Collins, a female resident of Hopewell, was tragically killed. The incident, which also claimed the life of 33-year-old Robert Lewis Bryant Jr., unfolded as a violent car chase that ended in a hail of bullets.
Around 2:00 A.M., police responded to reports of shots fired near Arlington Park. Upon arrival, they discovered a car that had crashed into a concrete staircase in the 2700 block of Courthouse Road. Inside the vehicle, they found both Jessica Lynn Collins and Robert Lewis Bryant Jr. suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders to perform CPR, both individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene.
