On the morning of May 3, 2025, 57-year-old Renee Goode, a woman from Petersburg, Virginia, was found unresponsive next to a car in the Thomas Rolfe Court area of Hopewell. Authorities arrived at the scene around 6:45 a.m. and discovered that Goode had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
