On a summer afternoon in Hopewell, Virginia, the life of 39-year-old Elisa Scott, a female resident, was tragically cut short. On August 20, 2020, at approximately 2:30 P.M., the sound of gunfire echoed through the 1300 block of Central Avenue. When police arrived, they discovered a grim scene. Scott and a man, Julian Emmanuel Sharpe, had both been shot. While Sharpe was pronounced dead at the scene, Scott was rushed to VCU Medical Center, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
