On the morning of February 27, 2023, the city of Richmond, Virginia, was shaken by a grim discovery in what should have been a place of community and recreation. The body of 28-year-old Tynesha S'Taria Hopson, a Black female, was found near the playground at Gillies Creek Park on Hobbs Lane.
