On February 27, 2023, at approximately 9:21 a.m., Richmond Police responded to a report of a person down at Gillies Creek Park, located on Hobbs Lane in Richmond, Virginia. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of 28-year-old Tynesha S’Taria Hopson near the park's playground. She had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
