On the evening of April 27, 2023, in Richmond, Virginia, 40-year-old Marcus Carron Dobson was found unresponsive in a grassy area near a parking lot at the Belt Atlantic Apartments on Midlothian Turnpike. Richmond Police had responded to a report of a shooting at approximately 9:08 p.m. and discovered Mr. Dobson, a Black male, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries that same night.
