On the evening of April 27, 2023, at approximately 9:08 p.m., Richmond Police responded to reports of a shooting at the Belt Atlantic Apartments, located in the 4000 block of Midlothian Turnpike. Upon arrival, officers discovered 40-year-old Marcus Carron Dobson unresponsive in a grassy area near the parking lot, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Dobson was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
