In the late hours of a summer Saturday, the life of 40-year-old Broderick Jones, a Black male, was cut short in Richmond, Virginia. On August 19, 2017, Richmond Police were called to the 1300 block of North 25th Street, in the city's East End, shortly after 11 p.m. There, they discovered Jones suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
