On the evening of July 15, 2023, a shooting occurred on Old Oyster Point Road, near Interstate 64 in Newport News, Virginia, that resulted in the death of 33-year-old Jeremy Hutchins. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene just before 9:00 p.m. Hutchins was transported to a local hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
