In the early morning hours of November 20, 2020, the life of 37-year-old De'Shawn Jimerson, a Black male from Washington state, came to a tragic and violent end in Lexington, Kentucky. What at first appeared to be a single-vehicle accident off Winchester Road and Midland Place soon unraveled into a complex homicide investigation. Emergency crews responded to the scene around 7:45 a.m. to find an SUV overturned at the bottom of a large culvert with Jimerson deceased underneath the vehicle.
