In the early morning hours of August 16, 2020, Mykel Waide, an 18-year-old male, was shot and killed in Lexington, Kentucky. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. near Newtown Pike, where police responded to reports of a large disorder with shots fired. Waide, a recent graduate of Tates Creek High School and an aspiring student at the University of Louisville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
