In the quiet of a summer night in Norfolk, Virginia, the life of 63-year-old Rolando E. Rogers, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On July 17, 2023, just before midnight, a call reporting an unresponsive person brought Norfolk Police to the 1300 block of Sunset Drive, near Chesapeake Boulevard. There, they discovered Mr. Rogers suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
