On September 3, 2023, 14-year-old Amir Burnett was fatally shot in Norfolk, Virginia. Amir, an eighth-grade student at Norview Middle School and a passionate athlete who had recently joined his school's football team, was spending time with friends at a residence in the Crown Point Townhomes on Wyngate Drive when the incident occurred.
