Larry Edward Franklin, a 47-year-old man, was last seen on September 23, 2003, in Grand Portage, Minnesota. He had left the Grand Portage Lodge with plans to travel to Cloquet, Minnesota, but he never arrived, nor did he contact his family as expected. Larry had mentioned possibly going hiking before his disappearance. A few days later, his vehicle was discovered abandoned at Jay Cooke State Park, near Cloquet.
