On September 18, 2023, 39-year-old Ashford Aaron Carter was found with a life-threatening gunshot wound in front of the Ivy Towers apartment building on Waterfront Circle in Newport News, Virginia. Emergency responders transported him to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
