On a tragic Monday afternoon in Painter, Virginia, the life of 24-year-old Aaliyah Antonatte Shakuria Collick was cut short by an act of senseless violence. On December 4, 2023, gunshots rang out on Keller Pond Road, and when authorities arrived, they found Aaliyah and a 23-year-old male companion both suffering from gunshot wounds. Aaliyah, a female resident of Painter, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man was transported to a hospital in stable condition.
